Statement from Lucan Sarsfields GAA
We recently identified gaps in Safeguarding and Garda Vetting Certification Compliance within our juvenile section. As a precaution, all juvenile activity was paused on 21 January so these issues could be addressed immediately.
All Safeguarding requirements have now been completed, and Garda Vetting applications have been submitted for everyone whose vetting had lapsed. With the exception of those awaiting vetting clearance, all individual stand‑downs can now be lifted. Working with the Dublin GAA Children Protection Office we will seek to lift the club wide standdown on Thursday 29/1/26
To ensure this cannot happen again, we have introduced strengthened monthly compliance reviews, more frequent training, and a zero‑tolerance approach to lapses in Safeguarding or Vetting.
The safety and wellbeing of our young players remains our absolute priority.
Thank you to our members, families, and volunteers for your cooperation and support.
