Our new ball stop on the senior pitch is now in place thanks to the generous support from Alan & Claire Haran and Whiteform Construction! Thanks to our super crew of Henry, Derek, Freddy, Alan, Anto, Liam, Pj and Tommy who poured the concrete, erected the poles and installed the net.
Golf Society
Lucan Sarsfields Golf Society wrapped up the year on a high with Captain Eamonn McShea’s Day at the prestigious Carton House – where the fairways are smooth, and the rough is... well, very rough. The Captain’s Day prize went to none other than club legend Seán McCaffrey, proving retirement does indeed improve your golf swing. The Golfer of the Year title was deservedly scooped by Damien O’Brien. Looking forward to more pars and fewer bunkers, and another great year of golf in 2026!

Intermediate Championship Match Report: Lucan 1-34 – 1-13 Maurs
Lucan Sars secured a vital victory over Maurs at 12th Lock, sealing a home advantage for the upcoming semi-final of the championship. The stakes were high, with Lucan needing nothing less than a win, and they delivered in emphatic fashion on a blustery afternoon.
From the outset, Lucan faced into a stiff breeze in the first half, but they showed their intent early on. Evin Dowling’s well-taken goal, coupled with sharp finishing from play, gave Lucan the platform they needed. Despite the conditions, Joey Dunne was in imperious form at full forward, racking up 13 points (7 from frees, 4 from play, and 2 from 45s) to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Midfield pairing Ryan Clancy and Liam Fitzgerald also made their presence felt, chipping in with crucial scores from distance to keep momentum on Lucan’s side. Conor Dillon and Cian McHugh added further points from open play, ensuring that Lucan punished Maurs whenever chances arose.
For Maurs, Jack Mitchel and Conor Gromme battled hard, with Mitchel notching a fine point from play, and Liam Sinnott steadying things with a converted free. They did manage to find the net once, but the Lucan defence otherwise stood firm, dealing with the breeze and shutting down Maurs’ attacking threats.
By the closing stages, the difference in sharpness was clear. Lucan’s accuracy and depth of scoring options saw them pull away decisively. This result not only secures Lucan’s progression but guarantees them home advantage in the semi-final — a crucial edge as the championship heats up.
