We are hosting “Puck for Palestine”, an U11 hurling and camogie blitz raising funds for GAA Palestine. All welcome for what will be a great day, please see details below
Where: Lucan Sarsfields GAA club
When: April 21st, Easter Bank Holiday Monday from 9am to 6pm.
Our aim is to raise at least €5,000. These funds will help develop facilities for GAA clubs in the West Bank in Palestine and to help with the costs of bringing players and mentors to Ireland during the summer.
Nearly 30 clubs from Dublin, Kildare and Meath taking part - half of these are bringing both hurling and camogie teams.
The impact and significance of the money raised will not be lost on those who take part and everything that’s good about the GAA, whether it’s in Lucan or Tulkarm will be on show in the form of people volunteering their time and energy ahead of the event and on the day.
Every child who plays will receive a cert of attendance and branded GAA Palestine water bottle with additional merchandise on sale on the day.
The club café will be open for the day and the bar will open at 2pm with food and drink for young and old available to those attending (food truck, ice-cream van) whilst entertainment will be provided by a local ukulele band The Walkeleles
Overall, the focus of this event is community, camaraderie and commitment to a greater cause – the young children of Palestine and the smiles the beauty of the GAA can bring to their difficult lives.
